Gal Gadot, known for her role as Wonder Woman and for being a weapons expert in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, is now taking on a new action-packed film called “Agent Stone”. The Israeli actress recently visited São Paulo to promote the movie at the Netflix Tudum event.
In “Agent Stone”, Gadot plays the character of Rachel Stone, a high-ranking agent who finds herself in the middle of a battle for the possession of the Heart, an artificial intelligence tool with the power to predict success or failure.
Gadot, who has also been involved in the production of the film, wanted to create more action movies with female lead characters. She assembled a team of experts in the action genre, including screenwriter Greg Rucka, known for his work on Marvel and DC Comics, and Allison Schroeder, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter. Director Tom Harper was chosen for his ability to develop character-driven stories.
Before becoming an actress, Gadot served as a physical fitness instructor in the Israeli military, where military service is mandatory for both men and women. This experience, along with her background as a dancer, helped prepare her for the physically demanding role.
Gadot’s desire to pursue a career in acting led her to audition for the role of a Bond girl in the 22nd James Bond film, a role she ultimately did not get. However, she found success when she auditioned for the role of Gisele in the first “Fast and Furious” film.
“Agent Stone” also stars Alia Bhatt, a popular actress in Bollywood, who plays Keya, a hacker attempting to steal the technology protected by Gadot’s organization. The film also features Jamie Dornan, known for his role in “Fifty Shades of Grey”.
Dornan expressed his desire to move beyond his reputation as a sex symbol, stating that as an actor, he wants to create new characters and explore different worlds. Gadot added that while having a beautiful face may open doors, talent is ultimately what allows an actor to succeed.
